From the Founder
I have never believed in teaching leadership the conventional way. For me, leadership is not just about skills, it is about identity, legacy and awakening something deep within. That is why I have rooted our entire curriculum in something far older than modern development models: African mythology, especially the profound symbolism of Ancient Egypt.
When people think of Egypt, they often disconnect it from the rest of Africa. But the truth is, Egypt is African geographically, historically, spiritually. And the wisdom carried by its symbols, the scarab, the Eye, the ankh, the sun disc – these are not foreign imports. They are part of Africa’s intellectual birthright. Reclaiming that, and using it to shape leaders today, is central to our mission.
By using Egyptian symbolism, I am not trying to be mystical for the sake of it. But I am building a bridge between the greatness of our past and the urgency of our future. I want young Africans to know that their roots are not just in hardship, they are in empires, in science, in spiritual depth. When we talk about transformation in our programs, I want that transformation to be deeply personal, symbolic and lasting.
Africa is one story. North, South, East and West, we are not separate histories. Through our Ambassador program we purposely connect all regions. So when I bring together symbolism from the Nile and implement it in programs, I am intentionally uniting what was divided. We do not talk about leadership in isolation, we place it within context, culture and spirit.
What we are doing through Tyrone Havnar Foundation is more than education. It is a rite of passage. Every Trailblazer we work with is not just gaining knowledge, they are stepping into legacy. They are carrying forward the fire, the wisdom, the vision. And that, for me, is what real leadership is about. We do not just build programs. We build people. We build purpose. We build power, the African kind.
